From a column by Jim Rossow, Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette sports columnist, 22 February 1996 (p. B-3). The article was about figuring out NCAA basketball player eligibility, and specifically talked about Illinois recruit Bryant Notree. A little bit longer quote:
As Notree knows, determining initial eligibility can be a frustrating and complicated process, like figuring out the square root of 37, minus a calculator (6.0827625 by the way). All that talk about sliding scales, core courses, standardized tests and on-campus and off-campus contact periods can make a recruit's head spin faster than some of those figure skaters at the end of a program.
