The Golden Ratio, aka the Golden Mean, aka the Golden Section, aka Phi, is (1+sqrt(5))/2, which is 1.6180339887.... Or maybe it's the inverse of that, which is 0.6180339887.... Or maybe it's (1-sqrt(5))/2, which is -0.6180339887....
Or maybe these terms are not all interchangeable, and various of them refer to different ones of these numbers. Various sources seem to use different terms and it's not clear to me which one really is which.
But however it all boils down, 37/60, which is 0.61666666..., is not too shabby of an approximation for 0.618...
